Amarnath Yatra 2016

AMARNATH YATRA is starting from 2 july 2016 the auspicious day of Massik Shivratri as per Hindu calander and is ending on  Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandan) on 18th August 2016.

AMARNATH CAVE is a hindu shrine located at Jammu and Kashmir, India. The Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji is managed by Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB). The cave is situated at an altitude of 3,888 m from Srinagar and reached through Pahalgam town. 






  
 History
There are references to the lrgrndry king Aryaraja who used to worship a lingham of ice in Kashmir and it is believed that Queen Suryamathi in the 11 century gifted trishules and other sacred emblems to Amarnathji 
 temple.




Facilities 
During the yatra many organizations provide food supply without any cost for free and some local people will provide tents to take rest or to sleep but by giving them some money as per their bases. Helicopter services from base camp to Panjtarin (6km from the cave) 











Routes
Devotees travel on foot, as depend on them from Srinagar or from Pahalgam and it takes approximately 5 days to complete the journey. 
The State Road Transport Corporation and Private Transport Operators provides the regular services to the devotees from Jammu to Pahalgam and Baltal. Privates taxis can be hired from Jammu.
The shorter northen route is just about 16 km long, but is quite difficult to climb. the route starts from Baltal and passes through Domial, Barari, and Sangam and passin from them you will enter in the cave.
